Recording is underway for my new, as-yet-untitled project. This means the shows page will be looking pretty bare for a while, while I focus, ferret-like, on getting some new music onto a format more tangiable than the melodies floating around my mind!

My bassist Jared Collison and I had the honour of opening for popular SA act Watershed at the Durban Botanic Gardens yesterday. It ended up being one of the most memorable shows we've ever done. The crowd were great, the sound was huge, and I sold more CDs than ever before. In fact, we quickly sold out of the stock I brought with! Thanks to all who made the concert a success, and special thanks to the guys from Watershed.

Just got back from my week of shows in Cape Town with indie-folk duo DieselVanilla. What a great experience! Each show was a success and the audiences in Cape Town are incredibly responsive, attentive, and into their music. Think I might book tours to the Mother City as often as I can! Thanks to DieselVanilla for sharing their world-class sound on the tour with me.

It's been a little while, but I'll be headed back to Cape Town this month for 4 performances at some seriously special venues. I'm gearing up for an exciting visit to Johannesburg next week (7 Feb). Not only will I be recording a track at the very cool Figure of 8 Studios, but I've also got my first ever JHB shows. And they're opening for local blues legend Dan Patlansky. How cool is that? Friday 11 and Saturday 12 Feb at Tanz Cafe in Fourways. Check out my SHOWS page for more details.
